NCTU Wins Best Sportsmanship Cup in University Championship for Sectors at the American University

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Mahmoud El-Sheikh, President of New Cairo Technological University, the university participated for the first time in the university championship for sectors for the fifth sector in its seventeenth edition for the 2022/2023 season, which was held under the auspices of Professor Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and President of the Egyptian Universities Union.

New Cairo Technological University won the Best Sportsmanship Cup for students.

In the same context, student Mohamed Ehab won third place in the high jump and long jump competitions in the athletics championship, which was held as part of the tournament.

Dr. Mahmoud El-Sheikh expressed his happiness at winning the sportsmanship cup and thanked all the participating students for their efforts during the strong competition between all the participating universities.

The university president added that the university always works to provide full support to all students to continue their athletic excellence alongside their education.

Dr. Mahmoud El-Sheikh also stated that the university’s teams will participate in many championships during the coming period, and the university is fully prepared to compete strongly for the top positions in the coming years and championships.

It is worth mentioning that the competitions were held at the American University in Cairo’s sports fields in the fifth settlement during the period from March 30 to April 8, with the participation of more than 2,000 students representing 20 universities, in 22 sports, including 16 individual and 6 team sports.

 

The list of participating universities included the American University in Cairo, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, the British University, the Nile University, the Canadian Ahram University, the Future University, the International Egyptian University, the Capital Canadian University, the Egyptian Chinese University, the Egyptian Russian University, the German University, the French University, the Egyptian Information University, Badr University in Cairo, October 6 University, Higher Institutes, International Knowledge Universities, E-Learning, and Renaissance University. The final day and prize distribution were attended by Dr. Mohamed Sabry Hassanein, Head of the Sports Education Sector at the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities.
