Professor Dr. Mahmoud El Sheikh, President of the New Cairo Technological University, welcomed a delegation from Gopa Infra as part of a series of visits to Egyptian government universities. These visits are proposed within the framework of the “Enhancing Energy Efficiency in the Egyptian Universities” project, held on Sunday, May 14, 2023.

The visit included Mr. Uwe Wieckenberg, the international expert for technical education development, the Technical Education Program to support renewable energy and energy efficiency, Mr. Heinrich Graumann, the project manager for technical and vocational training for renewable energy and energy use, Dr. Moshir Ali, the local expert for technical education development, and Dr. Mahmoud Diab, an expert in technical education.

Professor Dr. Mahmoud El Sheikh, President of the New Cairo Technological University, welcomed the delegation, expressing his delight at their visit and wishing them success.

The meeting covered a presentation of the project’s objectives and discussions on collaboration in curriculum development, training, lecturer exchange, and the establishment of a training center at the university.

Professor Dr. Tarek Abdel Malek, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology, provided an overview of the New Cairo Technological University. He discussed the university’s infrastructure and development, teaching methods, reliance on competency-based systems, and practical training for students.

The Dean also led the attendees on a tour inside the university campus, which included visits to laboratories and workshops equipped with units and devices for enhancing energy efficiency, the lab for new and renewable energy, as well as solar panels
