Dr. Mahmoud El Sheikh, the President of the New Cairo Technological University, announced the signing of a cooperation agreement between the American University in Cairo and the New Cairo Technological University. The agreement aims to establish a Professional Development Center at the university, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), with its headquarters located at the university.

Dr. Mahmoud El Sheikh explained that this initiative reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to prepare a generation of graduates who are capable of competing in the job market. It aims to bridge the gap between university education outputs and labour market needs, develop job skills for students, conduct workshops and counseling sessions, and provide employment and training opportunities for students and graduates.

The President of the New Cairo Technological University emphasized that, through collaboration with the American University in Cairo, the university aims to achieve financial and institutional sustainability in the university centers for professional development. The goal is to prepare trained and qualified administrative and technical staff at the highest level. He appreciated the support provided by the United States Agency for International Development in linking academic program outputs with the needs of the labor market. He emphasized that supporting entrepreneurship and small startups for students and graduates is a key focus of the vision and mission of the New Cairo Technological University. This strategy is based on building self-skills and investing in knowledge to achieve institutional excellence in international rankings, enhance the competitive capabilities of graduates, and support the quality of life for society while maintaining the university’s leading position.
