Delegation from British Universities in New Cairo Technological University

Under the auspices of Prof. Mahmoud Abdel-Shafi El-Sheikh, the President of the University; and in the presence of Dr. Ahmed El-Sabbagh, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Technical and Technological Education Affairs; and Prof. Tarek Abdel-Malak Mikhail, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology at the University, a high-level delegation visited New Cairo Technological University. The delegation is consisted of Dr. Rasha Kamal, the Egyptian Cultural Attaché and Director of the Educational Mission in London together with representatives from the following British universities:

University of Essex

University of Strathclyde

Leeds Beckett University

Exeter University

Arden University

Alster University

Sunderland University

Canterbury Christ Church

Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh

The delegation came to recognize the University, as it is the first fruit of technological education in Egypt and a nucleus for changing the traditional education system in Egypt. The visit began with a presentation by Professor Tarek Abdel-Malak Mikhail, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology at the University, explaining the university’s programs, teaching methods, and practical training inside and outside the university. The parties then discussed ways of cooperation, including curriculum development, enhancing academic and research collaboration, and supporting partnership in education development and student and faculty members exchange, aiming at preparing technologically competent graduates capable of competing in the local and international job market. The visit concluded with an inspection tour of the university’s laboratories and workshops.
