Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Dr. Hassan Hashata, Minister of Labor, attended the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students from the Technological Universities (Employment and Training) Today, Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Kempinski Royal Maxim Hotel.
The ceremony was also attended by Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Sabagh, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Technical and Technological Education; Ambassador Kim Young-hyun, the South Korean Ambassador to Egypt; Professor Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Shafi El-Sheikh, President of the New Cairo Technological University; Professor Dr. Tarek Abdel-Malak Mikhail, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology at the university; and several presidents of other technological universities.
The ceremony included the honoring of the ministers for the top graduates of the first batch of the New Cairo Technological University. The top three students in each academic program were honored. During the ceremony, the Minister of Higher Education expressed his happiness with the graduation of the first batch of students from the technological universities, stating that they are the nucleus upon which technological education will be built. The minister also confirmed that the graduation ceremony for the first batch of technological university students would include the graduation of 375 students representing the three technological universities that commenced their studies in 2019. Additionally, the top 30 students in terms of academic departments and programs would be honored.
Dr. Ahmed El-Sabagh, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Technical and Technological Education, emphasized that the first meeting for the graduation, training, and employment of the technological universities batch aimed to graduate over 360 students from the first three technological universities, namely the New Cairo Technological University, the Delta Technological University, and the Beni Suef Technological University, in various specializations such as Mechatronics, New and Renewable Energy, Information Technology, and others.
The South Korean Ambassador to Egypt praised the experience of the technological universities and the participation of Korean experts and partners in this journey from the beginning with the Egyptian youth. The technological universities strongly emphasize the integration with the industry, providing training opportunities for students related to practical skills.
Additionally, Professor Dr. Mahmoud El-Sheikh, President of the university, highlighted, during the opening session, the university’s commitment to graduate distinguished technologists who have the ability to compete in the local and international job market. This is achieved through supporting practical training for students and connecting them with industry partners to integrate them into the job market and equip them with the required practical and technical skills. He wished the students and graduates of the university success and fulfillment in all their endeavors.
