Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has approved the appointment of Professor Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak Mikhail to assume the position of President of the New Cairo Technological University. In the same context, the New Cairo Technological University family extends heartfelt congratulations to Professor Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak Mikhail on assuming the position of university president, wishing him continued success and prosperity. They hope that God will guide his steps in the future and that he will continue his successful journey in the university, starting from his tenure as Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology until now. He has held several administrative positions, including:

• Vice Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering for Education and Student Affairs and Acting Head of the Department of Mechanical Power Engineering, Faculty of Energy Engineering, Aswan University, from December 6, 2009, to August 31, 2012.
• Head of the Mechanical Technology Department, Integrated Technical Education Cluster in Al-Amiriya, Education Development Fund, Cabinet of Ministers from September 1, 2012, to July 16, 2014.
• Director of the Integrated Technical Education Cluster in Al-Amiriya, Education Development Fund, Cabinet of Ministers from July 17, 2014, to August 31, 2020.
• Vice Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology for Student Affairs, New Cairo Technological University from September 1, 2020, to December 23, 2021.
• Acting Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology, New Cairo Technological University from December 24, 2021 until now.

He also has extensive experience in the industry and its connection to technological education and scientific activities, including:

– Consultant at Fine Company for paper products from 2005 to 2006.

– Consultant at Carmen Company for paper products from 2008 to 2012.

– Undertook teaching and internal reviewing activities in accordance with the quality system of Pearson Education in the Integrated Technical Education Cluster in Al-Amiriya from January 2012 to August 2020.

– Project Manager for the feasibility study of operating technological entities, establishing vocational training centers, and developing training programs funded by the Korean government from 2015 to 2017.

– Organizing numerous training courses in operating systems and management of international technological education entities.

– Establishing laboratories and workshops at the New Cairo Technological University.

– Establishing the Quality Unit at the New Cairo Technological University in accordance with the international standards for technological education.

– Training many faculty members and their assistants on modern technological education systems according to the international standards and the competency-based approach.

– Establishing the following (2+2) academic programs at the New Cairo Technological University in collaboration with specialized industrial entities: New and Renewable Energy Technology Program, Prosthetics and Orthotics Technology Program, and Petroleum Production, Processing, and Transportation Technology Program.

– Secretary-General of the First National Conference for Technologists in Egypt, held on May 10, 2016, under the auspices of the Prime Minister.

– Member of the Development Projects Council at the Education Development Fund, Cabinet of Ministers, in 2019.

– The Integrated Technical Education Cluster in Al-Amiriya was recognized as one of the top ten centers for technical and technological education in Africa. It was honored by the African Union in Addis Ababa in October 2015.

– Attended a training course in South Korea on the management of technological education entities. It is entitled “ITEC Policy Makers Training Program in Egypt”, and it was from December 12, 2015, to December 18, 2015 and after that from July 11, 2016, to July 22, 2016.

– Member of the Advisory Committee of the Science and Technology Development Fund.

– Member of the Accreditation Committee for reviewing initiatives submitted to the Academy of Scientific Research.

– Member of the committee responsible for nominating deans of colleges at Aswan University, as per a ministerial decision.

– Policy Papers Reviewer for Information Center and Decision Support.

– Engaged in various protocols at the New Cairo Technological University with different industrial and educational entities, including the Technical Institute of the Armed Forces, Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute, Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, General Authority for Hospitals and Educational Institutes, Fresh Company, Egyptian Industries Federation Chamber, and the New and Renewable Energy Development and Utilization Authority.

– Member of the Technological Sector Committee – Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities (as a representative of the Office – Director of the Integrated Technical Education Cluster in Al-Amiriya – Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology at the New Cairo Technological University).

– Received Best Scientific Publication awards from Aswan University in 2015 and 2021.

– Certified International Reviewer and Trainer (AA 574228) for Pearson British Education Technology (BTEC) in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Conducted reviews and audits and accredited international certifications in countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Maldives, Uganda, Oman, Georgia, and Turkey
