The New Cairo Technological University won Capture The Flag Competition.

Under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Abdelmallaak, President of the New Cairo Technological University, student Karim Hamdi,  first Information Technology and Communication Program student, won  in the Capture The Flag competition among the top 20 contestants between government and private universities. He also received a prize and a certificate of appreciation.

The winning was the participation of a team of students from the Information Technology and Communication Program from the new Cairo University of Technology in the “Security Forum for Cyber inventions” under the supervision and follow-up of Dr. Walid Al-khattaam Dean of the Faculty of Industrial and Energy Technology, which took place on Saturday, 16 December 2023, at the headquarters of the Institute of Information Technology in the new administrative capital, the City of Knowledge.

Dr. Tarek Abdelmallak, president of the University, commended the creation of the ICT team, and congratulated them on winning Capture The Flag competition, ensuring the ability of students of the new Cairo Technological University to take all the competitions in various fields and to win advanced positions in them.

Abdelmallaak said that the university encourages its students to participate in various competitions and is keen to provide them with opportunities for creativity, innovation, and communication with their peers. He emphasized his support for student projects and innovations in various technological fields.

It is worth noting that the “Cyber Innovations Security Forum” is part of the CyberDays events series organized by the Information Technology Institute in collaboration with Trend Micro company.

The first part of the forum was dedicated to university professors to raise awareness about the dangers of cyber threats and enhance digital safety. A delegation from faculty members and the assisting body of the Information Technology and Communications program at the university participated, represented by Dr. Rasha El-Satouhy, Dr. Hatem Yousry, and Eng. Hossam Madhat. The second part targeted students interested in the field of cybersecurity and their participation in the Capture The Flag competition, which will enhance and sharpen their security skills, especially in combating cyber attacks.
