The New Cairo Technological University is organizing a training workshop on civil defense and civil protection against risks.

Within the framework of the New Cairo Technological University’s commitment, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak, to preserve lives, facilities, public safety, and the training and preparation of all concerned categories with high skill and efficiency in dealing with risks faced by individuals, the university, under the supervision and follow-up of Prof. Dr. Walid El-Khattam, Dean of the College of Industry and Energy Technology, organized a training workshop on civil defense and civil protection in collaboration with the Civil Protection Training Institute and the Civil Defense Management at the Ministry of Interior. This took place on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

Participating in presenting the workshop were lieutenant-colonel Ihab Sameer and the trainer Mahmoud Abdulaziz from the Civil Protection Training Institute, in the presence of Assoc. Prof. Abdullah Abdulhay, the College’s Vice Dean for Training Affairs, and a large number of students, faculty members, and staff at the university.

The training was conducted in various workshop formats, targeting the introduction of the importance of enhancing preventive measures among students, faculty members, and staff. Emphasis was placed on the role of prevention in preserving lives, properties, and public safety through the presence of fire extinguishing devices in close proximity at the workplace and continuous training on their usage. Additionally, participants learned how to deal with different types of fires and the appropriate firefighting methods for each. The workshop highlighted the significance of regular maintenance of fire extinguishers and alarm systems by relevant authorities.

The workshop included hands-on exercises for participants to ensure the acquisition of the required skills in dealing with risks and the correct use of various types of fire extinguishers.

At the conclusion of the training workshop, the lecturers were honored for their outstanding efforts. Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak, the university president, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Civil Protection Training Institute and the Civil Defense sector at the Ministry of Interior.
