In collaboration with the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, the New Cairo Technological University organizes a lecture titled “Strategic Management of Crises

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak, President of New Cairo Technological University, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Walid El-Khattam, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology, the Public Relations and Media Department at the university, in collaboration with the Human Resources Development Center at the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, organized a lecture titled “Strategic Crisis Management” on Monday, January 22, 2024. The lecture was attended by Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak, the university president, Prof. Dr. Walid El-Khattam, the dean of the faculty, Major General Staff Ayman Abdullah, a fellow at the Military Academy for Advanced and Strategic Studies, and Brigadier-General Dr. Mohamed Abdelmoneim, advisor to the president of the Central Human Resources Development Center at the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.

The lecture targeted senior and middle management at the university, and it was also attended by Prof. Dr. Tamer Abu El-Naga, the college’s vice dean for education and student affairs, Assoc. Prof. Abdullah Abdelhay, the college’s vice dean for training affairs, as well as program coordinators and representatives from all academic programs, and the directors of departments at the university.

At the beginning of the lecture, Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak, the President of the University, welcomed the attendees and emphasized the importance of benefiting from this lecture. He highlighted the significance of strategic management in envisioning the future of institutions, especially in light of potential crises. He stressed the importance of setting clear goals and outlining a roadmap to overcome the challenges, taking into account all internal and external factors. Dr. Abdelmalak expressed his hope that the lecture would achieve its expected results.

The lecture, delivered by Major General Ayman Abdullah, aimed to highlight the importance of strategic planning and its impact on crisis management in light of the challenges posed by the external environment. It explored how to withstand change currents using a scientific approach.

The lecture also covered the definition of strategic planning, its importance, and its role in crisis management. It discussed the effective impact of strategic planning and the real steps involved in understanding the reality of an institution. It also discussed paying attention to key financial, administrative, human resources, and customer-related aspects.

The lecture also highlighted the role of strategic planning in forecasting the future, predicting challenges, and identifying ways to overcome them. It included a brainstorming with the attendees to assess the impact of the lecture.

Prof. Dr. Walid El-Khattam, the Dean of the Faculty, stressed the importance of strategic planning and strategic management in enhancing the university’s work. He explained that strategic planning is a process of challenge and support to achieve goals. It is also a mechanism for building strong plans with objectives based on a system of documentation and diligence to ensure the success of the university’s work.

Major General Ayman Abdullah expressed his happiness for the invitation and emphasized the importance of strategic crisis management. He thanked the university administration for providing the opportunity to deliver the lecture. He highlighted that the university’s interest in developing the administrative capabilities of its members reflects a distinguished vision and administrative policy that seeks to achieve further success and progress.

Brigadier General Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Advisor to the Head of the Central Administration for Human Resources Development Center at the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, also emphasized the importance of cooperation between NCUT and the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics. He added that continuous cooperation between different government institutions always strives to achieve sustainable development goals in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which considers the development of human cadres in the state’s administrative apparatus one of its most important goals.

At the end of the lecture, the University President thanked Major General Ayman Abdullah and presented him with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of the university administration’s appreciation for his efforts. He emphasized that his delivery of this lecture would greatly benefit all university employees, which would enrich their various professional and administrative skills.
