New Cairo Technological University Hosts International Expert Richard Joseph and Participates in the International Forum in Cairo

Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak, President of New Cairo Technological University; Dr. Walid El Khatam, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology; Dr. Mohamed El Soudah, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences; and Dr. Buthaina Mahmoud, Director of the Entrepreneurship Club and International Relations at the university, participated in the International Cultural and Educational Forum hosted by New Cairo Technological University through a grant funded by the Fulbright Commission, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Technological Universities.

The forum was attended by Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of Fulbright Egypt; American expert Dr. Richard Joseph, Senior Advisor at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges and a specialist in political science, international relations, and higher education governance; presidents of technological universities; and a distinguished group of technological education leaders, technology transfer experts, and representatives of several academic institutions. The event was held at the Fairmont Nile City Hotel on the Nile Corniche in Cairo.

During the forum, Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak emphasized the important role that technological universities play in linking research outputs with industry needs and transforming student ideas and projects into practical applications and startups. He noted that this strengthens universities’ contributions to supporting an innovation-driven economy and providing technological solutions that serve society and the labor market. He added that technological universities represent a cornerstone in building a knowledge-based economy.

For his part, Dr. Walid El Khatam highlighted the vital role played by the Fulbright Commission in promoting cultural diplomacy and the exchange of knowledge and skills among countries worldwide, as well as the fully funded grants it provides to male and female students across various universities.

Dr. Mohamed El Soudah added that participation in this forum reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and academic and research exchange programs across various disciplines, as well as expanding academic and industrial partnerships at both the local and international levels.
