
New Cairo Technological University Qualifies for the University Innovation Forum Camp Following Its Excellence in the “El Abakera” Competition at the Egyptian Universities Level
Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak, President of New Cairo Technological University, and Dr. Walid El Khatam, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy Technology, the teams SolEsférA and Fourth Pyramid from New Cairo Technological University qualified for the training camp of the University Innovation Forum. The camp was held at Benha National University from February 1 to 5, following their outstanding performance in the “El Abakera” competition at the level of Egyptian universities.
Dr. Tarek Abdelmalak stated that the university participated with two distinguished projects in the field of renewable energy, among 32 teams from various governorates across Egypt. Both projects received notable recognition, reflecting the innovative ideas and practical solutions presented by the university’s students in the field of clean energy. He added that the university consistently strives to support its students and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, in line with the state’s direction toward strengthening the innovation ecosystem, under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Innovators and Geniuses Support Fund.
Dr. Walid El Khatam confirmed that the two projects were selected by the judging committee of the Scientific and Engineering Innovations Forum, organized by the Scientific Activity Department of the General Administration for Student Welfare at the Ministry of Higher Education. The projects were also nominated by the Ministry’s Scientific Activity Department to the Innovators Support Fund.
The students were accompanied during the competition by Captain Omnia Hamdoun from the Student Welfare Department at New Cairo Technological University.
The SolEsférA team consisted of Ahmed Saeed Mohamed (Team Leader) and members Salah Ashraf, Mai Mostafa, Ahmed Abdel Sabour, Mohamed Ramadan, Mona Yasser, and Shaimaa Gamal, all fourth-year students specializing in Renewable Energy.
The Fourth Pyramid team consisted of Abdel Aziz Mohamed (Team Leader) and member Roshdy Mohamed, also a fourth-year student specializing in Renewable Energy.
Both teams were supervised by Dr. Mohamed Salem and Engineer Sara Helal.
